Leaving on a jet plane

On Sunday we are going back to the States to see family and friends and to have our next baby. We are really excited to see everyone and for them to be around Cameron. I will post more, I am sure, of fun pictures with Grandparents and cousins after we arrive. Cameron is pretty excited about the trip. At breakfast the other day we told him that we would have a car (thanks to Alan's mom) and that we would drive. He never knew that we knew how to drive a car. Maybe he doesn't have much confidence in our driving skills because then he said, "can we take a taxi?" I guess he is used to either walking, taking the bus, or a taxi here.

All the candy please!

Cameron was supposed to reach into the bag and pick something out. Instead, he grabbed the entire bag and poured it immediately into his pumpkin bucket...he knew what he wanted!

Happy Halloween!

Can you tell who this is? Cameron said he likes "scary", which I think means he likes to be surprised since we don't have any scary Halloween things around us. It was so fun playing pretend with him. He is at the age where he loves it.

Hello Edward!

Cameron LOVES Thomas the train and all his friends.

Everyone likes cupcakes and Cameron even helped make them!

October Fun

So much has happened since I last wrote! Cameron turned 3 years old, Alan had a birthday (he won't want me to mention his age..it isn't as fun as being 3!) Halloween, and we had a sonogram to try to see if we are having a boy or girl, but the baby was not cooperating...I really have no idea what it will be and am dying to find out. Hopefully we will know in a couple of weeks.

We had fun celebrating Cameron's birthday. I can't believe we have a 3 year old. Hee is such a thoughtful, fun, sweet boy. Sometimes when things are mafan (troublesome) where we live Cameron will catch me saying, "oh, no" and he will say, "It's ok mommy" He helps me put our moment afflictions in perspective that the Father is so much bigger than anything I encounter, whether it be 3 different grocery stores only carrying whole milk, Alan having a migraine, or Cameron trying to stand up and go potty, but not being quite tall enough to make it over the toilet seat!

After his birthday he kept asking for surpises (he LOVES suprises, like his mommy), but he seems ok when I have to tell him, "not today"

On Halloween, thanks to Alan's mom working at a costume store, we had a fun family outfit..Darth Vader (Cameron) Yoda (Alan), and Princess Leia (Shannon). It was what we did last year, but it still sort of fit Cameron and he had it on for 3 days straight prior to Halloween, so I figured it was a keeper. I think Cameron isn't quite sure why people go around to houses to get candy because here all of our friends came over and hid in our bedrooms and then Cameron knocked on each door and said "Trick or Treat!" and he got candy and toys. It was really fun and we weren't wet or cold! We had a fun party at our house afterwords and even got Cameron to go around saying, "Luke, I am your father."

A Busy Boy!

We completed our first week of Cameron going to school by himself. He loves going and the first day he gave me a hug and just blew me a kiss..although I did see the hint of a possible cry, but he never did cry. It is a huge step for us and for him. I walked (a good 20 minutes) to pick him up today and came across two roosters and knew I just had to show it to him (how often do you find roosters in the the middle of a city?) He loved watching them walk around.

Today we took a bus (which every little boy loves) and went to visit a friend for dinner. I was talking to Alan and asked Cameron if he wanted to talk to daddy and he said "I can't, I am looking out the window"

It has been raining for the past several days, but that hasn't stopped him from playing in puddles and kicking his soccer ball.

Cameron has also been busy helping Alan paint a table and helping me cheer on the Tar Heels!

Our first day of school!

Growing up

Cameron has just started pre-school...only two days a week for half a day and it is so hard to let him go. I went with him the first two days and now we have a week break and I will miss going with him next week. He is so excited to go and loves getting his book-bag ready. He enjoys his bowl of rice and veggies they give him and especially gets excited when they have toufu...can you imagine being excited about Toufu! Growing up here he definitely has different tastes than when I was little.

While we were outside this morning we found two big sticks, which was a huge deal for a little boy living in the city. One broke, but we brought the other up to our apartment and showed it to daddy. We also collected some leaves (mostly all the same size and shape...I was kind of disappointed, but he doesn't know about the wonderful variety of beautiful trees you can have in your own backyard in the States). We did our first leaf rubbing, which was really fun for both of us. After lunch Cameron ran around our kitchen table playing "baseball player" and then he quickly got a football and started throwing himself down onto the ball, and then daddy, playing "tackle" Boys are boys no matter where they live!

He us such a blessing to us and shared his apple with me at lunch and at breakfast he gave me his muffin, but then he decided he wanted it back, but he did say, "May I have it back please?"
More adventures later!
