“To Infinity and Beyond!”

Saturday was a big, fun day for Cameron.  I took Cameron with some friends to see his first movie in a movie theater (and it was also our first 3-D movie).  We got to see Toy Story 3 and it was sooo great!  We both laughed and enjoyed it a lot…oh I love being with my buddy…he makes everything so fun.

Bunk Beds!!!

I never thought having bunk beds would be so much fun for Cameron.  We  have been planning on getting some for the past six months, but we were buying them from some people that were moving, so we had to wait on them to leave. It was so hard to wait, but Cameron was patient and we finally got them and stained them to match some other furniture.  Cameron and Alan stayed up late Friday night working hard putting them together, so here are the before and after shots.  Now the bunkbeds are not only a really cool place to sleep and snuggle and read books, but they are also used as a fort, treehouse, ship, car, or train.

Here she comes!

Laura Cate is officially walking, almost running, as of April 28th.   She loves it and is on the go all the time.  She is also a climber...climbing onto everything.  She loves to sit in any chair she can find and act like such a big girl.  I just to had to share these pictures. The first was when Laura Cate hopped into Cameron’s seat while watching Alan play baseball….she is such a fan of her daddy! The second was  taken on our balcony. I was surprised Laura when Cate first crawled into the seat (it is a little unstable) but she kept herself amused getting in and out all by herself.  The latter was taken in our hotel room while we were in Hong Kong for our visas…watch out, she is on the move and loving it!  Below is when Cameron was playing “train” with some chairs and of course Laura Cate climbed on board…she loves the red chairs.  They have so much fun together. Praise God for brothers and sisters!

When you've got lemons, make lemonade...

We don't really have a lot of lemons here, but what we do have is TON of rice! So, one day after lots of water was on the floor again and Cameron's clothes were wet because he needed to "wash" his cars, I decided we needed to move outside onto our balcony and make a sandbox. Sand is not a commodity that many people go out and buy and there is not a Home Depot around the corner, so I decided to use rice instead. The next day, I went and bought a big, flat rectangular tupperware bin and the cheapest 10 pound bag of rice I could find...not very hard to do :).....and VOILA! The kids have their very own "sandbox" as we call it and we ALL LOVE IT! For the most part the rice stays in it and one kid can sit in it one at a time. It is so much fun playing with them and watching Laura Cate pour and dig for the first time. I do find random pieces of rice throughout the apartment, but nothing a quick vacuum can't handle!

My Birthday Wish

We bought a used three-wheeled rickshaw (don’t worry it is motorized!) about six months ago, but it took a while for the weather to cooperate and for us to get it going.  Nonetheless, for the birthday (April 19th) all I wanted to do was for Alan to take us for a ride to my favorite local restaurant in our neighborhood.  So, we went as a family to clean it and get air in the tires and an hour hour ready we were ready to ride!  I loved sitting in the back next to Cameron and holding Laura Cate, except Laura Cate REALLY does not like to wear her helmet, so this is a bit of a problem.  It was a wonderful birthday with 3 amazing gifts from the Lord…Alan, Cameron, and Laura Cate! Big Wheels!

No, we are not talking about the famous tricycles that we had as kids, but Cameron learning how to ride a bike without training wheels! He has been wanting to learn for a while and Alan and I had to find a good time when we would both be around, so May 1st was the day!!

First we had to take off the training wheels, which Cameron thought was really fun. Then he rode around our cul-de-sac in our apartment complex a couple of times (with Alan’s help and a promise to not let go :) ) before he got a flat tire :( Sad! So, he and Alan walked to the bike repair shop and half an hour later they returned and Cameron rode a couple more times. It will take more practice and family effort, but we are excited for him!

Happy Easter

Christ the Lord has risen! We had a wonderful day at our International Fellowship and out to lunch with friends. It has been a gray and dreary spring but the sun was out. Nevertheless, the best part of the day was celebrating this:

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his many ways; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53:5-6

Praise the Lord, hallejuah. What a glorious savior!
